Congratulations on this Amazing news! I am so excited to capture this Awesome journey for you.
A maternity or bump portrait is a very special occasion, a chance to celebrate someone you love with your whole heart but haven’t met yet.
As soon as you arrive in my photography studio in Middelburg Kanonkop, I’ll be sure to put you and anyone who accompanies you at ease. It’s a special treat in celebration of you! I love keeping these shoots as natural and timeless as possible to show off the beauty of your bump.
l'l be guiding you the whole way. You do not need to try to work out what you need to do or worry over what is expected of you. That’s where this prep guide comes in. That said, I’ll absolutely listen to all of your suggestions and concerns to help you feel comfortable
What to wear
When you feel good in what you wear, it shows in every photo 🤍
I will be sending you studio dresses and wrap dress options via whatsapp. You can choose from any of them.
If you bring your own outfits
Tight clothing. A tight dress or jumper is perfect to emphasize the body & baby bump. Solid colors or simple floral patterns are recommended, avoid bold stripes. White t-shirts and Jeans are always are a winner.
If you are using one of our dresses
Remember to wear neutral color underwear. A strapless bra works well.
When doing the wrap dresses
Remember to wear a bikini top or a strapless bra neutral color underwear.
Keepsakes
If you have any keepsakes you would like to include in the shoot bring them along. This can be name blocks , baby onesies or baby shoes.
Make Up And Nails
The little details make the biggest difference 💅✨ Feeling confident before stepping in front of the camera.
Do consider having your hair & nails professionally done before our photoshoot, and apply your make-up as you normally would. When you do false lashes try not to go for the big bulky lashes.
A nice matt finish is perfect, and don't forget the lipstick!
If you don't wear make up, that's totally fine too.
Some of the photographs will pay close attention to your hands, so if you need an excuse to treat yourself then this is it!

A few additional thoughts…

If you are bringing children with you, I will capture them first and do all family photo’s first. After this they are welcome to leave with dad or family member. If this is not a possibility , please do not stress there is activities for them to do to keep them busy. I ask that you please not be late. I will have to deduct time from our shoot to make sure I can get to next person on time. I really hate doing this as I want to give you the full experience and I want studio to be a calm environment. If you are late you will be worried and rushed. This does not make for a comfortable experience.
